For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures – 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
We are reminded by the above Scripture that Christ died for our sins, He was buried, and that He rose again on the third day. Irrespective of the efforts of the enemies of the cross to discredit the reality of Christ’s death and resurrection, this truth is daily manifested in the transformation of lives by the power of the risen Christ. The power of the gospel is rooted in this reality of Christ’s death and resurrection. According to the Apostle Paul, if Christ is not risen, then our faith is futile and our preaching is useless. If Christ has not been raised, you are still in your sins. If Christ has not been raised, what is the fate of those who died believing in Christ? They are lost! The Apostle also argues that if only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men (1 Corinthians 15: 14-19). But thanks be to God, that is not the story. Christ has indeed been raised from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:20). Hallelujah!
Irrespective of the efforts of the enemies of the cross to discredit the reality of Christ’s death and resurrection, this truth is daily manifested in the transformation of lives by the power of the risen Christ.
It is on the basis of the power of Christ’s resurrection that we can boldly stand and proclaim His Word (Romans 1:16). Paul spoke about knowing the power of Christ’s resurrection in His quest to know God more (Philippians 3:10). This resurrection power of Christ is also available to you too; you can know it and experience it. It brings freedom from sin, Satan and the world. The death and resurrection of Christ paid the price for your freedom from the demands of the law. As Christ was raised to newness of life, you too can experience a new life by the death that he died and resurrected. Your dry bones can also come back to life if you believe in his resurrection. By your faith in his death and resurrection, you too were buried with him in baptism and raised with him through your faith in the power of God. You are no longer dead in your sins but you are a new creation in Christ. Through the cross, God forgave all your sins and canceled the written code, with its regulations that stood against you. He took it away by nailing it to the cross (Colossians 2:12-14). Christ’s resurrection proves God’s acceptance of his sacrifice and its power in your life. As death could not hold him captive in the grave, so you too can walk free. The reason he died was actually for you. The writer to the Hebrews says, “Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death – that is, the devil – and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death (Hebrews 2:14-15).
As Christ was raised to newness of life, you too can experience a new life by the death that he died and resurrected. Your dry bones can also come back to life if you believe in his resurrection.
It is also on the basis of Christ’s resurrection that we pray in the name of the risen Christ, and our prayers are answered (John 14:14). Today, when we call upon the Lord in prayer, we make demands on the resurrection power of the risen Lord to bring to life every lukewarm relationship with God. The resurrection power is the power of restoration. As we pray, everything that has been lost spiritually and otherwise will be recovered by the power of Christ’s resurrection. Do you have gifts, potentials, passion and visions that are dead? The power of Christ’s resurrection will breathe life into you for a total recovery.
Do you have gifts, potentials, passion and visions that are dead? The power of Christ’s resurrection will breathe life into you for a total recovery.
Finally, you have the opportunity of interceding for unsaved loved ones as you present them to the Lord for their salvation. He died and resurrected, so that anyone who believes in him will be saved, and that includes your loved ones (John 3:16). Bring them to God in prayer and see the resurrection power change the lives of even the vilest offenders as they truly believe.
May you experience the power of His resurrection.
