“Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” – Isaiah 43:18-19
The past few years have been challenging on a global level. As the world struggles to recover from the Covid-19 pandemic, the invasion of Ukraine by Russia has left the world in shock. As we approach the end of this age, the likelihood of seeing more of these events abound. For believers, our hope is in the word of the LORD which is sure and eternal.
Irrespective of what your experience was in the yesteryears, God says, “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old…” The past (whether good or bad) is capable of keeping you from accessing what God has in store for you in the future. God announces, “Behold, I will do a new thing…” He intimates us about His plan to enable us to prepare for what He is about to do in our lives and our world. In this season, God is about to do what has never been seen or heard in our lives. This implies God making us a reference point so we could direct men to Him by what He will do in and through us.
As part of God’s ‘new thing’ agenda, He promises to make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Peradventure you are in a fix and may have come to the end of the road, relax, because your end is not God’s end. He has the power to create something out of nothing (Hebrews 11:3). Maybe you’re afraid of the global turn of events; feelings of insecurity and fear have kept you in a festered state. God promises to make a way for you. Your case may be a spiritual wilderness where the dryness is pervasive and evident in every area of your life; God promises to make a way for you and open springs of water in that wilderness for your refreshing. In this season, God is revealing Himself to us as the way Maker. May your eyes be opened to see the way made for you in Jesus’ Name!
