“Speak tenderly to Jerusalem. Tell her that her sad days are gone and that are sins are pardoned. Yes, the LORD has punished her in full for all her sins” – Isaiah 40:2

Oftentimes, we’re faced with the realities of life where we are forced to be sad. For some persons, it might be a sad day, week, month or even years. There are others who live perpetually sad life due to the unpleasant events surrounding their lives. Whatever the reason, the Word of the LORD to you today is that your sad days are over.

It doesn’t matter how long you’ve wore the garment of sadness, God says, they are over. In another prophecy of Isaiah, God reiterates the fact, “To grant [consolation and joy] to those who mourn in Zion – to give them an ornament (a garland or diadem) of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment [expressive] of praise instead of a heavy, burdened and failing spirit…” Isaiah 61:3a.

As we come before the LORD in supplication, His promise is to pardon our sins as He puts an end to our sad days – forgiveness of sins precedes deliverance from all satanic orchestrations in our lives. Our sins have been fully paid for; therefore, sin should no longer have dominion over us. Welcome to a new season of joy! Hallelujah!
