What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot see – Hebrews 11:1
The believer’s walk on this side of eternity is largely dependent on faith. Little wonder the prophet Habakkuk wrote: “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him, but the just shall live by his faith” (Habakkuk 2:4). These are days of survival by faith.
Faith as defined by our main text is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. Faith in God is the key to receiving from Him. Even in prayer, faith is required to receive whatever we ask the Father. Christ corroborated this in Mark 11:24: “Therefore, I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them”.
You are headed for a crash if your faith is rested on men or the fading things of this world. Your future is only guaranteed when you put your faith in God.
All our labours on this side of eternity will be futile outside faith. And our faith we are told, should be in God – “So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God” (Mark 11:24).Where is your faith fixed, on man or material wealth? You are headed for a crash if your faith is rested on men or the fading things of this world. Your future is only guaranteed when you put your faith in God. Why not heed the words of Jesus today, He reminds us to ‘Have faith in God’.
The Patriarchs: Distinguished by Faith
The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd – Hebrews 11:2
The men and women of old who pleased God had one thing in common – FAITH. By this they were distinguished from their contemporaries. They followed and served God by faith even when the future was not certain and the odds were against them. They received direct instructions from God and were ready to obey to the letter even when such instructions were not very clear to them in the immediate. Their acts of faith were demonstrated in the fact that they only moved when God moved.
They followed and served God by faith even when the future was not certain and the odds were against them.
Not having so much avenues of knowing God as we have today, they still braved all odds to believe a God they had never seen. They did not have access to the Word of God through the various means and channels that we have today; the Holy Spirit wasn’t permanently resident in them as He is in us today, yet they waxed strong in faith. On our part, we are supposed to learn from their experiences, and do more exploits for the Kingdom than they did.
Many men distinguish themselves in sports, entertainment, academics, politics, and so forth, but only few distinguish themselves by their faith in God. Are you willing to distinguish yourself by your faith in God today? With or without an answer to your prayer, are you willing to wait on Him? May you receive the grace to standout for God by your faith in Him, in Jesus’ Name!

My faith will not fail God helping me.
Thank you for the great work, sir
